Top Colorado Prospects 2027 – Offense

We surveyed seven major Colorado prep reporters and consulted with two college scouts to come up with our rankings for offensive skill positions.

Scout’s Picks:

QB: Jackson Craig
Jackson is a part of the new class of throwers coming up that we would call pure rotational passers. He clocked the second highest velocity next to Vodika at 51 mph. Highest ball spin rate of any QB surveyed. At 6’2 as a freshman he is already the mark we look for in QB height . Highly accurate with a quick throwing motion and release. Great arm angle variance and decision making. Durable in the pocket, especially considering the amount of hits he took behind a very poor line. His hudl film is painful to watch because of it. Needs to gain weight to survive that kind of beating long term.  Too shallow in the pocket at times but did not seem to impact hitting windows likely because of arm angle variance. Once again height, velocity, and accuracy are tell tale signals for us here.

RB: Hunter Hershfeldt
Hunter did not get a lot of touches but made the most of the action he saw. Very quick feet and explosiveness out of the backfield. Has the potential as he develops to be a power or zone runner. Showed his agility at LB and has good feeling for the field. Great bursts but still has some hesitancy to hit the hole until he has a good view of the space which will likely evolve as he matures. The key here is potential.

WR: Noah Lucero
Noah has great height at 6’3 and size for his age. Immediately jumps out as understanding space. Knows when to throttle up to get away from man or head to next zone when when to settle in space. Runs precise routes but would like to see him break down even a little harder. Does a great job of catching in traffic and using his length to his advantage. Seems to come down with every fade that is thrown his way. Does a great job coming back to the ball. Doesn’t have the most explosive first steps but has a long stride and gets by defenders that should have good position on him.
